[Preservation of teeth by surgical method. I. Luxated and subluxated teeth].

There are various methods for the surgically preservative treatment of teeth. For the treatment of the luxated teeth by trauma, we have given our best efforts to preserve it. The purpose of this study was to investigate about our cases and the treatments. The total number of cases to have been investigated was 49 teeth from 21 patients, of which 43 were permanent teeth and 6 were decidious teeth. The 9 teeth were luxated and the remaining 40 teeth were subluxated. For the luxated teeth, reimplantation method and for the luxated teeth, repositioning and fixation method was adapted. The clinical studies were made for these cases about age distribution, injured site, injured cause, injured time, duration until first visit, complication, condition of injury, treatment method, vital test of pulp, fixation method and prognosis. The number of teeth which were not preserved by our methods were 6, of which 2 were luxated and the remaining 4 were subluxated one. In other words, 87. 8% of total number was preserved.
